MERIDIAN, Miss.(WTOK) - Many people showed up to Freedom Rock Christian Fellowship Church Friday night to be a part of the Youth Empowerment Summit.

With help from the MHS color guard and the church's praise team, church members got to see a unique performance. Youth pastor Thomas Key explains why the summit is important for young people in the area.

"We believe that it is important at this point because at this age we really feel like we can change the trajectory in young people's lives they can just be touched," Key says.

The church is holding an obstacle course race Saturday morning at 9:30, everyone 6th grade and older is eligible to participate.
