Ryan Armour won his first PGA Tour title in his 105th Tour event in the 50th Sanderson Farms Championships. The former Ohio Sate Buckeye shot a 4-under 68 to win the Mississippi event. He started the final day with a five-stroke lead and finished 19-under for the tourney and won by five shots over Chesson Hadley. Jackson native Jonathan Randolph finished third at 12-under.

Ole Miss blew another big lead and fell in the final seconds to Arkansas. It was the Rebels' fourth straight loss to the Razorbacks. The Rebels entered the game with only one lost fumble on the season but fumbled twice in the game. They were also intercepted, and those three miscues led to 21 Arkansas points. One loss does not fire a coach, but the Matt Luke supporters are dwindling in number.

Mississippi State finally beat Texas A&M in Texas. The Bulldogs dominated in garnering their first win since 1913 in the state of Texas. State has now won three straight games since losing back-to-back games to Georgia and Auburn. An 11 a.m. home game with Massachusetts is next with Alabama on the horizon. The Bulldogs should be favored in three of their final four games and will go bowling for the eighth straight year. Mark McLaurin of Collins had a key interception that helped State secure a 14-0 halftime lead.

USM did not play well in their loss to UAB. The Eagles could not muster any offense in the 30-12 loss. UAB’s freshman running back Spencer Brown rushed for 209 yards with 91 of those yards coming in the final period. The Eagles (5-3) will now have an uphill battle as they go on the road for three of their four next games. Tennessee is up next.
