Grand Ole Opry star and Country Music Hall of Famer Porter Wagoner will be remembered with a funeral service at the Grand Ole Opry House Thursday.

The 80-year-old entertainer died of lung cancer Sunday in a Nashville hospice.

Wagoner had a streak of hits in the 1960s and '70s and enjoyed a comeback in recent months with a new album, called "Wagonmaster."

But for many longtime fans, Wagoner will be best remembered for his sparkly rhinestone suits and for helping launch Dolly Parton's career.

Parton sang with Wagoner on his TV show from 1967 to 1974.
