The Jimmie Rodgers Foundation announced activities for the remainder of the 2008 festival.

Advance registration is required to participate in the Jimmie Rodgers Talent Competition Apr. 26. It will take place at the MSU Riley Center.

There will also be food and children's activities in Dumont Plaza Apr. 26,, prior to the headline concert.

"That night we are presenting Mississippian Chris Sharp and the Jang'a'Lang Band, who will be opening for Canadian country music, Grammy-nominated group Emerson Drive," said foundation president Betty Lou Jones. "We're very excited about this group coming to Meridian. They are entertaining all over the country, opening for baseball games, and sold out concerts in Florida. And we're so excited that we've been able to get them here for the Jimmie Rodgers Festival."

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are available for $35,$30, and $25 at the MSU Riley Center box office. If you want tickets the day of the show, they will each cost $5.00 more.

The Jimmie Rodgers Pageant will be Apr. 19 at EMEPA. Registration is required for that as well.
