A little bit of Lauderdale County might be coming to the big screen soon.

Residents in Kewanee say a movie maker was in the community early Tuesday morning, shooting scenes for the new film, "Due Date", starring Robert Downey, Jr.

The filmmakers were only there for a short time, shooting video of the old general store in the community, Simmons Wright Company, among other things.

"They came through, he was supposed to be kicked off a plane in Atlanta, or something like that, for the movie backdrop," said Gary Pickett of Kewanee. "And he goes from Atlanta to the West Coast, via Mississippi, Alabama, whatever it takes to get there."

"Due Date" is a romantic comedy, and is expected to be released in 2010. It's shooting in locations across the country, including Georgia, Mississippi, and New Mexico.
