The Crossroads Fitness Center opened Feb. 14 in Newton. Officials say the purpose of this center is to provide a wellness site. Before, there was no such facility available in the entire county.
Jesse Bryant has been a Newton resident for 12 years and he says this workout facility was long overdue.
"It's great, great, great. The whole facility is great for Newton," said Jesse Bryant, a Newton resident. "I wish everybody would come out and exercise some more."
Bryant says now people have a local place to exercise during convenient hours. Bryant says before Crossroads, residents had to exercise at Newton High School's field house.
"Since the facility opened up, that will give us time to work out other than trying to go the field house when the field house is closing up in the evening time," Bryant said.
Crossroad's individual membership is $25 a month and family plans are also available.
