A Meridian hospital is helping some local nursing students pay for their education through an annual scholarship program.
Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center Thursday presented scholarships to six nursing students at Meridian Community College.
The scholarships are all given in the name of important people in the hospital's history.
"We have a long history and heritage of promoting nursing," said JARMC board member Jan Farrington. "And we want to provide quality nursing for the area and for our hospital, for the patients in this hospital, and to do so, we start by providing these scholarships."
Anderson has been presenting scholarships to nursing students for twenty-one years.
