Fund Established to Help Bay Springs Youth
Bay Springs, Miss. Seth Harris is a 12-year-old seventh grader from Bay Springs, who is battling leukemia. This week an urgent plea was issued for an experimental drug that doctors said could be Seth's last hope.

A package that could save the life of a Jasper County boy was expected to arrive early Thursday in Mississippi.
Seth Harris is a 12-year-old seventh grader from Bay Springs. He is now battling leukemia. Currently he's hospitalized in critical condition at the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson.
This week an urgent plea was issued for an experimental drug that doctors said could be Seth's last hope. After being turned down by a number of hospitals for help, the Harris family's prayers were answered Wednesday when the Italian manufacturer of the drug agreed to ship the medication to Seth.
"I know it's not an FDA-approved drug but in a situation like this it is a matter of life and death and it could be a 50/50 chance that it could save someone's life. I can't see why all the red tape to get the drug to that child as soon as possible."
The name of the experimental drug is defibrotide.

Yes. I pray for Dawn and her family. We met Seth and his family at CCC where my son and Seth both went through chemo. This is a special family and needs our prayers for strength at this time. Camp Rainbow will start Wednesday and run through Sunday. Seth's friends will definitely miss him.
Just wanted to let you know that this morning Seth recieved his angel wings. Please pray for comfort and peace for his parents and extended family and friends. It really is a sad day in Bay Springs.
Seth is from a town of 2200 people, where everybody knows everybody. I know his entire family. He is an only child. The faith of this family, and the resolve has never waivered. With their eyes on God, they have climbed mountains of red tape, and gone where the Drs and administration at UMC felt they could not tread. There are many medical complications, from double pnuemonia, liver disease, and kidney problems, besides the lukemia and bone marrow transplant he recently had. This experimental medicine is being used to treat the liver disease, and is only part of many steps. Since he just received a BMT, he does not have any immune system at present. Please pray.
