Meridian, Mississippi The weather was perfect for those that took part in a 5K run on Saturday morning.
The second annual "Puzzle Pony Run" kicked off at 8:00 a.m. at Bonita Lakes. The run is a part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness for autism. Volunteers say the turnout was better than last year's run.
"Yeah, the puzzle is the symbol of autism and the pony represents the carousel horses in Meridian," Jim Taylor says. "This is the second year, we have twice as many people as we had last year. I think there's like 226 out here today."
Organizers plan on holding more 5K runs and other autism awareness events.
