Locals learned some of the things to watch for with men and depression.
A workshop on the subject was held Wednesday at MSU Meridian, sponsored by the Wellness Therapy Institute.
The goal of the workshop was to help participants understand the signs of depression in men, and how it can manifest itself differently than in women.
"Depression is one of the number one reasons that people seek mental help, and 1 in 4 people in their lifetime will have some form of depression," said Julia Porter of MSU Meridian. "The severity varies from individual to individual."
An estimated six million men in the U.S. suffer from some form of depression, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.
