The Consumer Product Safety Commission says no injuries have been reported with any of the toys recalled Tuesday by Mattel.

At a news conference, acting agency chairman Nancy Nord said the scope of the recall was "intentionally large" in order to prevent injuries from occurring.

The recall includes more than seven million play sets, including Polly Pocket dolls and Batman action figures, and 253,000 die-cast cars that contain lead paint.

The recall involving lead paint is Mattel's second in two weeks. Earlier this month, consumers were warned about 1.5 million Chinese-made toys that contain lead paint.

In full-page ads in The New York Times and other newspapers, Mattel said it was "working extremely hard" to address concerns of parents and that it continues to try to create "safe, entertaining toys."
