The town of Marion interrupted water service to customers Wednesday morning, in order to repair a leak.

Officials estimated water might be off for a couple of hours from the time the repair started. That would mean water could be restored by early afternoon.

Standard procedure is to enact a boil water advisory, once service is restored, just in case contaminants got in the lines.
