Anderson Regional Breast Center has been recognized as an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.
It means the center has undergone and passed a detailed review process to meet national standards in breast imaging.
"The personnel here at the center have been shown to be well qualified to perform and interpret breast imaging studies," said radiologist, Dr. Amy Coleman. "Also the equipment is tested as being appropriate as the tests the patients have to have, and also the facility is evaluated for safety and quality assurance guidelines."
Of the 8,700 facilities certified in mammography nationwide, only 570 of them are certified as an ACR center of excellence, putting Anderson in the top ten percent nationally.
