Carruths Share Cancer Story

Well-known Mississippi personality, Paul Ott Carruth, and his daughter spoke at Anderson's Lunch & Learn session.

Carruth was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. His daughter, Carla Carruth Tigner, has been breast cancer-free for 6 years.

For the Carruth family, breast cancer is genetic.

"For us, it's important that we eradicate this disease," said Carla Carruth Tigner. "And by making people aware, telling our story, you never know whose life you may touch, to give them hope and encouragement. But also, fundraising, to help researchers develop more, to find a cure."

Paul Ott Carruth says breast cancer is rare in men, but it's almost always deadly, because they don't get screened. He says the early discovery of his cancer saved his life.
