Another Meridian business has jumped in to support John & Friends Run for Cancer.
New South Ford Nissan employee Stacey Williams asked her boss to allow the staff to wear jeans on Fridays.
Employees contributed money to the Anderson Cancer Center Patient Benevolence Fund in exchange for the privilege.
Williams said several New South families have been touched by cancer.
"After we raised the money and took it up there, one of the employees said, oh well, they're selling shirts, so they all wanted to buy shirts, too, to help raise money," said Williams. "We have about 56 employees and about two-thirds of them did participate."
Williams said her fellow employees realize that a cancer diagnosis takes a toll on the patients and their families, so they wanted to make a difference.
John & Friends Run for Cancer is Sunday in New Orleans.
