Donations have started to come in as John's Run for Cancer gets closer.
A representative from the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus has pledged $500 to the Cancer Patients Benevolence Fund at Anderson Regional Cancer Center.
"The first degree of the Knights of Columbus is charity," said John Harwell, member of KC Council 802. "And we believe that this fund is one of the most charitable ways that anybody can help in this community. And we're glad to be a part of that and I hope others will join in as well."
This year, WTOK's John Johnson, Lindsey Brown, Nick Adam and Angie Barker will run the Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans to raise awareness and funds for the benevolence fund.
