Lauderdale County, Mississippi 2013 will go down as another successful year for the Lauderdale County Relay for Life.
The largest relay for life in the state raised $280,000 dollars this year, just a little below last year's $330,000 dollars. The event was initially set to take place at Meridian High School's Ray Stadium on May 7th, but was postponed until Friday night and held at the Lauderdale County Ag Center. Cancer survivors told Newscenter 11 they were just glad to be able to gather and celebrate life.
A total of 60 teams made up this year's Lauderdale County Relay for Life.
