Philadelphia, Mississippi The new $19 million Neshoba County General Hospital will open Sunday with a special celebration including a program, tours and reception.
The opening begins with a 2 p.m. ribbon cutting under the new entrance.
Hospital administrator Lonnie Graeber tells the Neshoba Democrat that the opening comes as the hospital is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The new 52,600 square foot hospital features 25 large, private patient rooms, surgery suite and pharmacy on the second floor.
The first floor consists of a state-of-the-art emergency department, a four-bed intensive care unit and a radiology department with an outpatient waiting area.
The new hospital replaces the current hospital one that celebrated its grand opening on February 10, 1963.
