New Mississippi Abortion Law

Mississippi's only abortion clinic is trying to comply with a new state law by securing hospital admitting privileges for its three doctors.

Failure to do so before the law takes effect on July 1 could force the clinic to shut down.

The Clarion-Ledger reports that lawmakers who supported the measure have said they hoped it would close the Jackson Women's Health Organization clinic by creating abortion regulations the clinic could not meet.

The clinic's three abortion providers are obstetrician gynecologists. Clinic spokeswoman says that if the three are denied hospital privileges, the new law will be challenged in court.

women who get pregnant and do not want there baby should be kept in a safe place, drug free, and well nourished so when the baby is born the baby can be given to a family who has long awaited a baby then she should be forced to have a hyst so this can not happen in the future and then shecan do waht she wants with her body she is grown but the baby will be took care of not murdered!! insurance or medicaid(which is waht most is on) should pay for this service one time then hyst and then they wouldn't have to pay any more..BABY WILL BE SAFE....if they cont to allow abortions then everyone who gets one should be tried for MURDER and whomever performs abortion should be tried as a MURDER also...from the time of conception a baby is innocent and is gods child

It is sad that this is even arguable. Putting a baby to death is wrong. It has nothing to do with a "Woman's Choice". In that case, I guess we could kill anyone we don't want in our lives.

Abortion is murder and I hope they can shut this clinic down. Sadly, I also know that there are too many people that think that women have the right to kill their baby if they want to so I am sure this will be a long battle.

It's not control over their own bodies that these women want...they want control over someone else's body (the baby) and the right to kill the other person without a cause. The people in favor of pro-life standards are not trying to limit what women can do with their own bodies, instead they are trying to protect innocent babies. And yes, abortion is very different from the death penalty. If you intentionally kill an innocent person, you deserve to die. That is what the death penalty is for: people who have no respect for human life. Use some common sense.

After reading all these comments, I wonder what would Jesus do, I am sure that many of these comments are coming from women who call themselves Christians. Would Jesus put them to death. NO. and you set yourself up to be judge and jury. Jesus would forgive them for what they did. Only those with spirit of the devil would say such a thing. Read your Bible dealth panel Christian and be careful what you say. Jesus is watching. What you say is what you are. Vinage is mine, sayth the Lord. This state has no right to rule over many, This is control of mine and the people. If they get away with it law, think about whatelse they will come up with next. I do not approve of any abortion, but I don't agree with mod rule. Teach you women about protection and they will a far better chance of not getting pregnant. Jesus lover us all not just the few.

"there are plenty of people who can't have children and would love to adopt the babies of these irresponsible women." Then please explain all the orphanages, the world over, filled to the brim with unadopted children.

Do you know of anyone who has ever tried to adopt a baby in the U.S. It is almost impossible. Why do you think many people leave and go to another country and try to adopt, but then, you have to have plenty of money to do that.Maybe that is why all the orphanages, the world over, are filled to the brim.

abortion is different from the death penalty, Babies have not been given the chance to live when they are aborted. criminals have given up their chance to live and their freedom, when they commit crimes. what makes you think that it is ok to kill a baby that did not even choose to be in this world. If women weren't so free with themselves, they would not have to have an abortion. there are plenty of people who can't have children and would love to adopt the babies of these irresponsible women.

It has nothing to do with life or death, Stacy. Simply put, the republican party doesnt believe that women are intelligent enough to have control over their own bodies. Womens bodies must be regulated. You havent seen anything yet, dear.

The Republican party does believe that women are intelligent. Intelligent enough to use protection and not get pregnant in the first place. It's not about a woman's right to decide what to do with her OWN body, It's about a woman's right to decide to kill another life because of her irresponsibility.

How can the Republican party support the death penalty for inmates, but continue to pass legislation for abortion. Death is the same whether if it is at the beginning of conception or at the end of a journey crime. There should be no difference if you are PRO-LIFE.

Some things (like protecting the lives of infants from destruction) transcend politics. Why even bring in the Republican party blah blah blah rants? And Stacy G - your death is death comment comparing the killing of an innocent baby with someone who has committed a heinous crime -- well - what do you say to that kind of reasoning?

What kind of message is that sending? "You killed 2 people. Killing people is wrong and against the law. For that. Your punishment is that we are going to kill you. But its ok for us to kill you." I do not believe in abortion, but I am also against the death penalty. Far worse punishments than death.
