As it moves closer to opening a new hospital in Choctaw County, Ala., Rush Health Systems is conducting some health career training seminars.
The 25-bed, Choctaw General Hospital is under construction in Butler, and slated to open in the spring of 2012.
The educational sessions are to help the potential workforce know how to make application for jobs, and what is expected of the staff when the hospital opens.
"It's just important to get the word out to folks," said J.W. Cowan, administrator for Choctaw General Hospital. "We have a high unemployment rate in Choctaw County and these are going to be great jobs. But we're looking for team members, for people that will actually understand what is involved in being part of a health care team."
Rush is also making plans for a job fair in October. Supervisor positions are already posted on its website. A link is provided below.
The last seminars, Hospitality in the Hospital, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Silas Municipal Complex in Silas, Ala., at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
