The Heart Smart Health Fair, held at MSU's Kahlmus Auditorium, offered free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol, plus information about BMI surgical weight loss, The Sleep Center and senior care.
"We do this a couple of times per year," said Donnie Smith, Rush vice-president. "We have some free screenings at other events we have. We'll highlight in March a colorectal event regarding gastro diseases you can have. We will do some screenings around that as well, so with every health care event we have we try to provide free screening. And we try to provide information about healthy living. "
The event also featured physician seminars, with answers to health questions provided by Rush doctors Charles Davenport, Shea Hailey, Thomas McFarland, Jennifer Rodriguez, Benjamin Rush, Norrapol Wattanasuwan, Brahmesh Siva, and Dwight Hand.
