Some highlights for the fair included information about the hospital's new robotic heart surgery and a new procedure for acid reflux.
"We have always thought of ourselves as being on the cutting edge of technology, and we have so many advanced programs now," said Andie Ortlepp of Rush Health Systems. "And we just thought the community may not know what all we do have."
Along with blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index, and cholesterol checks, the health fair also featured Rush's facilities in Quitman, Union, Morton and the one that is soon to open in DeKalb.
