Allergy Season Here with Vengeance

Experts say this allergy season is shaping up to
be a tough one, with the sodden earth boosting tree pollen and mold in many regions of the country.

It's something the legions of sufferers with itchy eyes and fits of sneezing already know.

Allergy specialists around the country all say this season is or has been a bad one.

Experts say over-the-counter remedies work but
there are other things people can do.

Dr. William Reisacher is director of the allergy
center at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He tells patients to avoid tossing clothes worn outside on the bed and to shut bedroom windows to prevent pollen from coming inside in the early morning, when counts are highest.

I was dreading the time that pseudoephedrine would not be available from the pharmacist. But I have found using Allegra with a decongestant works about as well for me.

I'm right there with you, Cindy. For the past several days I've been suffering with sinus headaches, drowsiness, etc. This morning I took the last remaining "real" Sudafeds that we bought in Alabama a few months ago so I could get relief. Lo and behold they worked, unlike the over-the-counter junk they sell now in its place. It's a shame some dummies out there want to make meth with it.

Due to the new law past last year we can't buy the proper meds that "were" over-the-counter without going to the dr first and getting scrip. I understand why, but it has made it hard on us who do not abuse it.
