Students Scout Job Market

Rush health systems hosted its annual ''Career Care 2004'' Wednesday at the Specialty Hospital in Meridian.

This is a chance for students to learn about opportunities for employment in the healthcare field.

"There's already certified people here, so they can tell what goes on in hospitals and what you'd be doing if you wanted to be in that specific field," said Justin Broadhead, a student at Meridian Community College.

"I chose pediatrics because I love children," said Precious Ramsey, a Meridian High School student. "And that's basically what I want to do once I graduate from high school and go to college."

Rush officials say, as the population increases and ages, more workers will be needed in health-related careers to provide care.
