At a news conference Monday, Secretary of State Eric Clark asked Mississippians to cast their votes this fall in honor of veterans.
In the Nov. 2 general election, Mississippians will get to vote on candidates for president, four U.S. House seats and four state Supreme Court seats.
This is the second year for Clark's office to sponsor the "Vote in Honor of a Veteran'' initiative. The office is making available red, white and blue lapel stickers for people to wear on election day.
The stickers say "My vote honors'' with a space for a veteran's name. They're available by calling 1-800-256-3494.
Clark said his office also is collecting veterans' written recollections about their service, and those will be posted on the secretary of state's website.
