Meridian-based Peavey Electronics says an increase in new product orders has led to the hiring of 140 new employees since April.
The company said its new product development strategies, particularly in the sound reinforcement and guitar divisions, along with focused artist relations and marketing efforts, provided the catalyst for the new orders.
Peavey Electronics maintains more U.S.-based manufacturing than any other major musical instrument and sound equipment manufacturer in the world.
Half of the 140 new jobs were added following the Peavey Job Fair on May 15.
The company is one of the largest manufacturers of musical instruments and professional sound equipment in the world.
It holds more than 130 patents and produces more than 2,000 products, which are distributed throughout the United States and to 136 other countries.
