Trick or treating time is just around the corner, with Halloween coming Wednesday.
City officials want everyone who does trick-or-treating in local neighborhoods to be as safe as possible. They're reminding drivers to take extra care on Wednesday night and parents to keep an eye on their own kids.
"The problem with the excitement is that sometimes kids aren't always watching out for themselves," said Maureen Lofton, the city's assistant for governmental affairs. "So we need people to watch out for the kids when they're not watching out for themselves."
The trick or treating curfew is 10 p.m. Wednesday. By city ordinance, trick or treating is limited to children 12 and under.
