The investigation continues into an assault on a Meridian police officer Wednesday night.
Officer Veronica B. Phillips had stopped a vehicle on Highway 19 south ,just across from Bonita Lakes Park, because it matched a description of one being sought.
One or more of the three male occupants allegedly assaulted Phillips.
She was not seriously hurt and the suspects were apprehended.
