The bond bill passed by Mississippi lawmakers includes $40 million to help expand Northrop Grumman Ship Systems' shipyards in Gulfport and Pascagoula.
Northrop Grumman Ship Systems President Philip Dur says the company will put up millions of dollars to match the state investment.
The company's board met last week and decided not to fund the Mississippi projects because of uncertainty at the time about the fate of the bond bill.
The final version of the bill passed the House 107 to 2 and the Senate 48 to 2.
It covers everything from economic development projects to repairs of local bridges, purchase of rural fire trucks, and repairs, renovation and construction of buildings for state agencies and on college campuses.
The special session cost taxpayers $432,593.
