Already sentenced to life in prison, Derrick Todd Lee now faces execution in the beating and stabbing death of a 22-year-old woman.
A jury Thursday night rejected claims by defense attorneys that the twice-convicted killer was mentally retarded and ineligible for the death penalty.
Lee was convicted Tuesday for the first-degree murder of Jackson native, Charlotte Murray Pace.
Lee will be formally sentenced to death on Dec. 10.
