Seventeen-year-old Rodney Fielder is back in the custody of the Scott County Sheriff's Department. Meridian Police officers captured Fielder shortly before 11:00 a.m. Friday morning on Interstate 20/59 near the 150-mile marker.
Two young men traveling with Fielder Friday were taken into custody for questioning but are not the escapees who remain at-large.
Twenty-one-year-old Lloyd Page is still wanted for escape and armed robbery, along with 17-year-old Kenneth Johnson, who faces the same charges. Fielder, Page and Johnson are from Newton.
"Newton County put out a description on a white mini-van due to information received from a confidential informant," said Gerald Greer, an investigator with the Scott County Sheriff's Department. "I didn't have an actual description of it. Newton County did. They informed us that they had put out a BOLO on it and Meridian Police Department did take them into custody."
Three units of the Meridian Police Department responded when the white mini-van was spotted in Meridian. Officers Ricky Roberts and Jay Arrington and Sgt. David Latting stopped the vehicle and detained all three until Scott County officials arrived on the scene.
The identities of the trio were not confirmed until later. None the subjects had photo identification on them, although Fielder gave his real name to authorities.
"We'll check their fingerprints," said Greer. "Of course, we have picture IDs and we'll check them out thoroughly."
Any information on the remaining suspects, Lloyd Page and Kenneth Johnson may be reported to the Scott County Sheriff's office in Forest at (601) 469-1511.
