The recent special session for Mississippi lawmakers didn't go exactly as planned.
But state Sen. Terry Burton of Newton said on WTOK's "On the Record" that differences between legislators can be overcome.
"No, I don't think the blood is so bad we can't work together," Burton said. "Many people think the governor controlled the Senate. That's not true. We felt we could compromise and we could have gotten everything done in a day."
The special session actually took three weeks. "On the Record" airs Sundays at 5:30 p.m.
