The United Way of East Mississippi is easing closer to its goal of $700,000. The agency was helped by the Wal-Mart Corporation.
Because of the level of employee participation in the 2004-2005 campaign, Wal-Mart donated an additional $2,000.
"We thank the community. We still have a lot of work to do. There are folks out there, I know, who have money in their pockets, just burning a hole in it, and we need them to give for a great Christmas," said campaign chairman Bubba Hampton.
Donations to United Way may be withheld from your paycheck or you may make a lump sum donation directly.
