Alabama Attorney General Troy King has warned Greenetrack and another dog racing facility to replace electronic machines he considers illegal.
King's announcement came after a five-month review of electronic gambling throughout Alabama.
"My job though is to enforce the laws as they are given to me, and that has been very difficult to do to this point. It's been difficult, if you are in law enforcement, to know how to enforce the laws because we haven't had clarity in the law," King said. "I believe what we are doing today is to bring that clarity to the law, which I think will enable the gambling laws of our state to be enforced more effectively."
King said he would give the tracks a reasonable amount of time to replace or re-program the machines to comply with his definition of what is allowed in Alabama.
