The Riley Foundation helped United Way of East Mississippi reach the 80 percent of its goal by making a $15,000 donation Friday.
United Way is working toward a goal of $700,000 to help 16-member agencies meet the needs of the community in 2005.
"It's the work of foundations like the Riley Foundation and the member agencies of the United Way that make this such a wonderful community to live and work," said campaign chairman Bubba Hampton.
"These service agencies are in constant need of funding and the United Way is probably the greatest resource tool to provide funds and partner with organizations, individuals and businesses in our area," said Becky Farley, executive director of the Riley Foundation.
United Way is the largest single source of revenue for agencies like Love's Kitchen, Hope Village for Children, Care Lodge and the Boys and Girls Club.
