Subscribers to the satellite system, Dish Network, now have some new options when it comes to local programming.
Starting Thursday, Dish Network has added local stations to its lineup, including WTOK, making local news and weather easier to watch.
"The disadvantage of satellite in the past has been that we haven't had local channels," said Jason Sercovich of Dish Network, which offered a demonstration of the service in Meridian. "Now that we do, the customers here in the Meridian area can see everything we have to offer including their local channels."
A minor upgrade to a larger dish is necessary for current customers. New customers will automatically receive the local package.
