Renovations Underway at #2

Work began Monday morning to renovate Fire Station Number 2. The city council recently voted $20,000 for the work. Firefighter Wallace Miles, who is assigned to Number 2, says the men are pleased.

"I thank the city council for enabling them to come out here and get the work started and really appreciate it a lot," said firefighter Wallace Miles. "They took the air conditioner down off the roof. Going to replace it adding two air conditioners inside for us. It's really nice. Actually, they're remote control air conditioners so that makes it all better. That's something number one don't even have."

Miles said when the work is finished, fire station Number 2 will be more comfortable and convenient for the men working there.
