State Attorney Gen. Jim Hood's office has been searching for evidence to prosecute those responsible for the murder of James Chaney, Michael Schwerner and Andrew Goodman.

The three were killed by Ku Klux Klan members on June 21, 1964, in Neshoba County for registering blacks to vote.

Hood says his office should conclude the probe by the end of January.

The Neshoba County grand jury meets January 4 to consider other criminal cases.
