This is a summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Monday, the first day of a special session:

Met briefly for the introduction of bills.

Met briefly for routine procedural business.

House and Senate budget committees have a joint public hearing on the governor's health insurance legislation at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday in the House chamber. Legislative Council meets at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in room 617 of the Statehouse to consider the State Health Plan. House Tourism and Travel Committee meets at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in room 122 of the Statehouse. House and Senate meet at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
