The Kemper County Chamber of Commerce held its 20th Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation Monday.
East Mississippi Community College instructor Jennifer Hull was honored by the Chamber as the 2004 Kemper County Citizen of the Year. Hull said she was very surprised.
"My husband kept it a secret. It was just totally shocking to me. I feel very unworthy of that. I enjoy doing things for the community and its citizens. It just brings me pleasure," Hull said.
Among Hull's contributions is a mural in downtown Dekalb.
The Chamber also presented four John C. Stennis Awards of Merit to media outlets, including WTOK-TV.
