Meridian businessman Wally Hudnall has qualified to run in the 2005 mayor's race.
The 55-year-old Hudnall sought the Republican nomination for mayor in 2001.
Hudnall identified some issues he would like to address as mayor.
"First of all, maintain our streets a little better. The possibility of building a new school or so. We haven't built a school in over 42 years. We need to think about that. Education is the foundation of our future," Hudnall said.
Hudnall said he believes everyone should lay aside political parties and vote for the candidate they feel can get the job done.
