The latest arrest in connection with a fatal shooting at Rush Hospital came this week when Willie Jenkins, Sr., 55, was taken into custody. He was charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence for a shooting involving his estranged wife, Martha Jenkins.
"This comes from the incident a couple of Sundays ago that resulted in one lady being shot and Mr. Jenkins himself attempting to commit suicide, which later led to the fatal shooting of someone at a local hospital," says Lt. Dean Harper with the Meridian Police Department.
Thirty-year-old Timothy Jenkins was killed in the shooting at Rush Hospital. The two men charged with his death have since bonded out of jail. Officials say their cases could be presented to the grand jury in March.
Jenkins has since been released from jail on $10,000 bond.
