Airman Shares News From Iraq

Senior Airman Cole Walker, who is stationed in Iraq with the 248th Air Traffic Control Squadron of Meridian, shared photographs of him and other soldiers involved with Operation Crayon.

In addition to his duties as an air traffic controller at Kirkuk Air Base, Walker and others take blankets, clothing and school supplies to children there.

"I thought you might like to put them on the air to show people that there is a lot of good things going on around here and there is a lot of Iraqi people that want us here and appreciate us being here," wrote Walker in an e-mail to Newscenter 11.

Contributions for Operation Crayon have come from schools, groups and individuals here in the U.S.
