Lawyers and Tort Reform

Trial lawyers and defense attorneys are at opposite ends of the tort reform issue. That was made plain Friday by Katherine Kirby, president of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association in her talk to the Lauderdale County Bar Association.

"My organization has not voted as a group," said Kirby. "I, as the president however, have received input and comment from a huge number of its 600 members and the consensus is in favor of general civil court reform."

Kirby, who is from Columbus, specializes in civil rights, employment law and public entity defense.
