Authorities are investigating the hanging death of a nine-year-old at her home in Union, Miss. earlier this month.
Lawmen say an autopsy performed on Tanesia Jackson confirmed the hanging caused the girl's death, but did not clear up whether it was a crime, accident or suicide.
The girl was found hanged by a jump rope in her bedroom closet on Jan. 6. She died two days later.
Neshoba County coroner Allen Collins says the only visible injuries were to her neck, where rope marks were obvious.
