Meridian-based Citizens National Bank ushered in a new era Tuesday.
Richard Wilbourn III, 41, was introduced as the bank's new chairman of the board. He succeeds his father who died last year.
As board chair, Wilbourn says he plans to work on the bank's continued growth.
"Since I've been on the board since 1999, the bank has grown from $400 million in assets to over $800 million in assets," said Wilbourn. "So, we've more than doubled its size, which is remarkable growth in that period of time, yet I think the bank has continued to be a community bank and that's something that we hope to continue."
Citizens National Bank also named its first female board member, Elizabeth Wilbourn Williamson, the daughter of the late Richard Wilbourn.
