Walking the Walk

Area Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts walked through downtown Meridian Saturday on their annual "Ten Commandments Walk" Saturday.

Scouts made stops at local churches and other public places to hear different members of Meridian's faith community present brief sermonettes on each of the Ten Commandments.

"To show our young people, remind our young people of the importance of doing their duty to God, an important tenet of both the Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs," explained John Beauregard, the Choctaw Council scout executive.

The Ten Commandments Walk has become an annual event for area Scouts.
