A Mississippi author is hoping to call attention to the rich culture and history of the area, with the release of a new book.
Attorney Jerry Bustin is from Forest. He was the guest speaker at Monday's Rotary Club meeting in Meridian.
Bustin's first fictional novel, "To Kill a Viper", was recently published.
"There's a lot to be told about this area," said Bustin. "There's a lot of real culture here, the background and a lot of other things that people don't know about. I'm trying to put these things in a mystery form."
"To Kill a Viper," is a murder-mystery. Bustin also has a short story published in the book, "Christmas Stories from Mississippi."
Both of books may be requested at local bookstores.
