The Mississippi House and Senate are going into conference on legislation to rewrite Mississippi's business liability laws. The House voted 76 to 44 Friday to seek a compromise with the Senate.
Rep. Percy Watson said there are "major differences'' remaining between the two houses. Legislators have been working on civil justice reforms since Oct. 7, when both houses passed a medical malpractice bill.
Lt. Governor Amy Tuck said she was disappointed the House didn't accept the Senate version and send it on to the governor.
