Radio talk show host, Harrison Lewis, has announced he's a
candidate for mayor of Meridian.
Lewis made his plans public as a news conference Saturday at
Meridian's Velma Young Park.
Among the issues he outlined in a campaign statement, Lewis called for more accountability in handling the city budget and pledged to not raise taxes.
Lewis is known as "The Truthmaster" on WNBN-AM.
Lewis joins incumbent John Robert Smith, county supervisor Jimmie Smith and retired businessman Wally Hudnall in the 2005 mayor's race.
The deadline to file is March 4, 2005, at 5:00 p.m.
